Instant gratification mindset

I was thinking yesterday how weird it is that most ads I see in relation to physical training or nutrition are about promising fast results. You don’t tend to realize it in our fast-paced society BUT it is a little puzzling if you think about it, how we spend years and decades digging ourselves into a hole and then we want to come out of it quickly.
I’ve seen this same instant gratification mindset in myself and others in various other physical activities - take running and jiu jitsu for instance. Lots of material is aimed at getting you to run ultras and to reach a certain belt in the quickest amount of time - not mentioning that by doing so you significantly increase the risk of injury (and, more importantly, of burnout), as well as missing the many life-lessons available along the way..
